  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or similar field of study preferred

Work Experiences:

  • 5+ years of Human Resources support experience required
  • General knowledge of Human Resources, including state and federal laws
  • Prior experience with partnering with managers to deliver HR solutions

  • Collaborate with HR leadership and business partners to support business objectives
  • Lead and deliver all aspects of Academy's new hire onboarding process and New Hire Orientation Program for direct hires, including but not limited to: approval of background checks, ensuring timely communication of orientation details, conducting new hire orientation and onboarding as needed
  • Manage internal HR workflow by facilitating employee moves, preparing organizational charts, managing and analyzing HR reports and prepping meeting materials
  • Facilitate organizational change management initiatives and requirements with leadership team
  • Develop presentations, recommendations, and action plans based on facts and HR best practices
  • Assist with providing coaching and guidance to leadership and Team Members regarding employment issues, including but not limited to: policy and procedures, interpretation/application, performance management, corrective action, internal investigations and separations
  • Provide essential HR administrative support by creating notification letters, communication plans, internal eligibility requests and processing people moves
  • Assist management and team members by recommending resources, responding to inquiries, and following up on communication
  • Manage HR inbox, including sending messages on behalf of HR, and responding to or routing messages as appropriate
  • Research and investigate team member issues regarding HR policies and procedures, compensation, paid time off, leave of absences and payroll
  • Collaborate with colleagues in HR centers of excellence (COE) functions to apply sufficient HR resources to meet the business needs
  • Assist with organizational changes as needed
  • Proactively partner with HR leadership to plan and execute upcoming HR initiatives and events such as the year end process, succession planning, career pathing, talent calibration, etc.
  • Influence and support the Talent Management agenda with business partners
  • Attend and participate within team meetings, discussions, and on occasion present ideas and concepts to team
  • Partner with management to define and develop appropriate metrics to drive the business and establish goals
  • Provide assistance and follow-up related to company policies and procedures and document appropriately
  • Assist HR leadership in responding and/or redirecting Team Member questions regarding time, benefits, accommodations,  LOA, etc.
  • Provide administrative support to Academy's Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee ensuring that diversity and inclusion metrics are being tracked, providing Team Member Resource Group (TRG) support, as well as ensuring that Academy's internal Diversity portal and inbox communications are maintained appropriately
  • Evaluate current procedures, identify areas of opportunity, recommend efficient solutions, and implement changes
  • Assist with the development and execution of HR strategy and projects
  • Drive team engagement activities, as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with procedures and data integrity for all HR transactions, manage legal documentation requests as needed
  • Analyze data and prepare reports as requested
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Academy's policies and procedures, and state and federal laws regarding Human Resources activities and assist with ensuring compliance
  • Required to learn company policies, procedures, and safety rules
  • Duties may change; Team Member may be required to perform other duties as assigned

COVID-19 Testing and Face Covering Policy

Academy encourages but does not require COVID-19 vaccination.  In compliance with the OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard, however, Academy's COVID-19 Testing and Face Covering Policy (found HERE) requires that all Team Members submit their vaccination status. Team Members who are not fully vaccinated must wear a face covering while on Academy's premises and submit regular COVID-19 test results at their own expense. Team Members are considered fully vaccinated when they provide Academy with written proof that two weeks have passed since receiving either a single-dose series COVID-19 vaccine or the second dose of a two-dose series COVID-19 vaccine.
