Purpose of Position:
To train in all aspects of providing personal care and related services in the home
Description of Required Duties and Tasks:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.
•\tTrains under the supervision of professional staff on how to provide personal, hygienic care for patients, such as bathing, hair, mouth and skin care.
•\tTrains on how to check vital signs, i.e. temperature, pulse and respiration. Trains on how to perform uncomplicated treatments as assigned and instructed by the professional and as allowed per state regulations.
•\tTrains on how to provide light housekeeping and/or homemaker services. Services may include light housekeeping, linen changes, laundry, meal preparation and companionship.
•\tTrains on how to assist with physical activity as assigned, such as transferring, ambulating, simple exercises and encourages independence.
•\tTrains on how to remind the patient to take their medications as prescribed by the physician.
•\tTrains on how to assist the patient and/or family in providing a clean, safe environment.
•\tTrains on how to prepare simple meals and assists patient with eating when needed.
•\tTrains on how to establish a relationship with the patient and family that promotes trust and provides emotional support.
•\tTrains on how to record observations of treatment and care given and reports any significant change in the patient's condition or problems to the supervisor.
•\tTrains on how to submit all documentation in a timely manner according to agency policy.
•\tReceives instruction regarding mandatory attendance for twelve hours of in-service per
•\tagency policy and procedure.
•\tReviews the company's policy and procedures.
•\tTrains on how to ensure protection of confidential information that is stored, handled or
•\tmaintained by following Company Policies and Procedures related to confidentiality
•\tand/or HIPPA regulations.
•\tOther duties as assigned.
