Department:CC038966 Research Informatics Summary: The Informatics Program Manager oversees the management of research informatics for Arkansas Children's and UAMS investigators in relation to research, quality improvement, and operational support. Develop, deploy, and support research, quality improvement, and operational support databases and supporting informatics tools, and assign time allocation for project deadlines accordingly. Serve as a point of contact for Arkansas Children's and UAMS investigators requesting database and informatics development and support. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Data Management
Prioritize and manage requests from Arkansas Children's investigators requesting database and informatics development and support.
Manage the life cycle of informatics projects and assign time allocation for project deadlines accordingly.
Define needs, come to an agreement with investigators, and manage the delivery of project deliverables.
Devise and implement policies and standard operating procedures with attention to data security and efficiency of data handling and management.
Serve as administrator of the Arkansas Children's i2b2 and other research informatics tools such as TriNetx as well as assist in the development of the Research Data Capture (REDCap) system. Function as a member of the international consortium, and assist with local system upgrades and improvements.
Perform requirements definition and analysis, create the design, develop project deliverables, test, and implement systems for research, quality improvement, and operational support requests from Arkansas Children's investigators. Assist with reports and extraction, when needed.
Understand and follow security protocols and protected health information standards.
Identify efficient ways to organize, store, and analyze data with attention to security and confidentiality.
Retrieve data for approved research, quality improvement, and operational support projects, primarily through the electronic medical record repository as well as other resources such as i2b2 and the Pediatric Health Information System (PHIS).
Provide continuing service request support of database projects, including access, security, maintenance, and enhancement.
Support Arkansas Children's and UAMS investigators in daily use of research database systems.
Develop and conduct training for Arkansas Children's and UAMS investigators with a focus on teaching best practices to enhance data efficiency, collection, and security. Prepare users for data collection and REDCap project creation.
4. Process Improvement
Work to continuously improve processes and functionality
Process raw datasets and deliver analytical datasets to ACRI Biostatistics Core, as needed.
Contribute as an effective ACRI and ACH IS team member.
Perform other duties as prioritized and assigned.
Required - Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university - Field of Study: business analysis or computer science, or related study area
Preferred - 2 years SQL Server or other related database management systems and computer programming experience preferred
Preferred - 1 years REDCap experience preferred
