CC094011 Respiratory Summary: Job Summary: The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) II demonstrates a competent level of respiratory care practice as an advanced-knowledge Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP). The competent level of Respiratory Care (RC) is characterized by increased knowledge, skill, and experience to analyze, think critically, plan, prioritize, organize care, make appropriate clinical judgments, and efficiently manage routine and unexpected clinical situations. With ongoing experience and proficiency, the RRT II serves as a resource for other staff, assists with problem-solving, participates in evidence-based practice and begins developing clinical leadership skills within the RC Services team while caring for patients of all ages with respiratory-related needs. 1. Patient Care Process and Clinical Responsibilities

• Consistently provides safe and effective patient care that addresses the age-specific variations related to clinical, educational, psycho social and cultural needs per ACNW policy and procedure.

• Demonstrates critical thinking through individualizing and prioritizing care (Assessment, Problem Identification and Desired Outcomes, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation) and communicates with appropriate Team ACNW Members to ensure this care.

• Recognizes the need to communicate with other Team ACNW Members to plan patient care needs and performs communication and collaboration effectively, and is instrumental in implementing change.

• Provides ordered patient plan of care and assesses appropriateness of the plan of care.

• Recognizes emergency situations and intervenes appropriately. Participates as part of Code Team as assigned.

• Demonstrates a positive commitment to customer needs, expectations, satisfaction, and diversity, and supports the ACNW philosophy of Family-Centered Care.

2. Professional Development

• Maintains professional records that provide evidence of competency and continuing education.

• Recognizes current level of knowledge and is self-directed in seeking resources/learning activities in relation to professional practice standards and enhancing competency.

Education Requirements
Required: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma.
 
Field of Study: Graduate and successful completion of an AMA-approved respiratory care therapist program

Preferred: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.


Experience Requirements
Preferred: 1 year pediatric respiratory care experience 

Certification / License / Registry  Requirements
Required: Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP): (AR) Candidate must possess at time of hire
Required: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Candidate must possess at time of hire
Preferred: Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS): (NBRC) (Certification)

Preferred: Registered Pulmonary Function Technogist (RPFT) 
Preferred: Sleep Disorders Specialty (SDS) (Certification) 
Preferred: Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) (Certification)
