This position is for our new Massachusetts office which is in Waltham, MA north-west of Boston convenient to routes 2, 20, 30, 90, 95; and, also
on the Fitchburg Commuter Rail Line (Brandeis/Roberts Stop).
We are looking for a talented and passionate Software Development Architect who wants to make an impact in the medical space. With over 35 years of
experience in the orthopedic industry, Arthrex is dedicated to providing safe and reproducible solutions for health care professionals. This is an opportunity
to make an immediate and lasting impact on the processes and infrastructure that power our software development team.
We write our applications in a wide range of languages such as Go, Ruby and do mobile development for both iOS and Android. As an Architect, you will
be working alongside other developers and the DevOps/platform team to create the highest quality applications and ensure standards are met. You will
lead efforts to ensure our infrastructure, monitoring and automation tooling is high quality and meets the needs of our teams and projects. You will use
tools such as Amazon Web Services, Docker, CircleCI, Datadog and GitHub. As part of the technical leadership within the team, you will help identify new
technologies, standards and patterns. With your experience and guidance, you will actively develop solutions to assist various teams with more complex
tasks, or tasks that use new technologies. Qualified candidates have previous experience demonstrating their ability to lead and mentor other team
members on best practices and patterns while building applications.

Advanced Experience creating web and/or mobile applications - contributing to both the front end and back end
Experience creating REST based web services
Experience leading development and/or DevOps/platform teams
Strong knowledge and experience with Linux server administration
Experience with AWS VPC, EC2, ECS, RDS, and beyond
Experience with automation tools
Experience with logging and performance monitoring
Strong knowledge and experience with POSIX shell scripting (e.g. Bash) and other languages such as Ruby and Python
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
Comfortable using Git

Education and Experience:
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline required; MS preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience with software development and operations.
