The Role Opportunity Overview
As FLASHship Supervisor, you will oversee fulfillment operations at our Northwest Service Center. Your high-reaching mission will be to ensure the on-time delivery and quality of the Kent-based FLASHship program through direct management and hands-on execution. You will provide team leadership, employee development and oversight, and effectively communicate with your team, FLASHship personnel at other centers, vendors and customers to drive the success of the program. Additionally, you will be responsible for compliance with safety and quality standards as well as company policies and procedures.

Role Details
Reporting to the Service Center Manager in Kent, with a dotted line to the FLASHship Operations Manager, you will manage a three-person team responsible for fulfilling and shipping customer orders within 24 hours of arrival.

You will work in the Northwest Service Center but you'll be aligned with the FLASHship program, that is separate and unique from service center operations. You and your team will be responsible for shipping inventory including 1400 skus and 7 brands. In performing your role, you will communicate with a variety of contacts, including directly with customers who are placing orders through the web portal or on a dedicated line that goes directly to you. These are commercial customers with repeat business, so establishing strong relationships and serving as the go-to person for your customers' needs will help you be effective in your role. You'll begin your week with a tightly run team call including all the FLASHship supervisors and leadership, then take ownership of the workflow for the week, ensuring the inventory is available and all orders can be fulfilled. Naturally, there is some paperwork, but it is limited. Most of your time will be spent managing your team and the program, working with vendors, customers, Sales and other internal personnel, and ensuring every order is sent accurately and on time. Your specific duties will include:

Supervision

  • Directing employee(s) as required to ensure compliance with customer demands
  • Ensuring employee(s) have sufficient training and instruction to satisfactorily meet the Safety and Quality requirements for all assigned operations
  • Tracking employee performance to established standards and provide feedback on performance within a timely manner
  • Providing employees with counseling as necessary or corrective disciplinary action per Company Policy
  • Reviewing and approving assigned employees' timecards daily
  • Receiving inventory and enter into the JDE database
  • Working with Customer Service to assist Sales Representatives (DSS) and customers with any questions and resolve any issues
  • Coordinate inventory with Supply Chain Manager, ensuring accurate stock to meet customer demand across multiple brands
  • Working with Company management for all FLASHship brands to manage lead times and ensure accurate stocking levels
  • Assisting other FLASHship locations with order fulfillment
  • Actively focusing on reducing workplace hazards
  • Continually promoting a safe and harmonious working environment, demonstrating strict adherence to the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct and ASSA ABLOY Health & Safety Policy
  • Serving as a safety coach for your team and participating in the overall safety program of the workplace
Order Fulfillment
  • Responsible for picking, packing and shipping all SAME DAY customer orders for the program in a timely manner
  • Ensuring accurate and detailed account of inventory on hand and keeping stocking levels at acceptable levels using replenishment procedures
  • Organizing and maintaining item locations in FLASHship department with regards to fast-moving items and location relevance
  • Identifying and helping implement improvements within the department to improve accuracy and efficiencies.
  • Working with team members to ensure timely shipment of all orders

Requirements

The Requirements To be a strong fit for the FLASHship Supervisor opportunity, you will have:
  • A high school diploma or GED required; an associate's or bachelor's degree, ideally in Business or another relevant focus, is preferred
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment Quick question for you - click here
  • Solid computer skills including experience with most or all of the following:
    • UPS Worldship and barcom
    • Microsoft Office Suite programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • ERP software, ideally JDE

  • Proven ability to thrive and excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • An unwavering commitment to safety; a background in 5S is a plus
