Job Overview

The AVP RCM Transformation is a senior member of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and direct reports to the SVP of RCM. As a subject matter expert in RCM solutions in home healthcare, functions as an effective liaison between the RCM, operations, finance and the IT department. Often, cross collaborating with multiple stakeholders to define the current and future state business processes, identifying issues and risks, suggesting mitigation strategies and driving towards technology solutions.

The AVP RCM Transformation works closely with business departments to gather customer requirements, translate them into clear compelling business cases and requirements documents, develop processes, and support the design, test, and implementation of RCM processes and IT solutions that support the strategic objectives of the company. Successful AVPs of RCM Transformation are detail oriented, yet still able to see the big picture and work with the business to drive a strategy which optimizes RCM resources and IT investments.

The AVP RCM Transformation works closely with the RCM leadership, IT and Clinical Systems and Applications with regards to the development, testing, and release/support teams throughout the organization. Additionally, in partnership with the solution owner, the AVP RCM Transformation will work with RCM, IT and Clinical Systems Applications to help define operational processes, drive deployment, adoption, and training, and track customer feedback to build improvements into future solution requirements

Essential Job Functions
Develops ongoing thought leadership and the strategic vision for the system-wide Revenue Cycle Management organization that will be shared with Revenue Cycle and overall corporate leadership.
Build collaborative relationships with peers and key business stakeholders based on business and IT values to collaboratively achieve business department goals.
Ensure business solutions are aligned with their goals and priorities.
Analyzes and reports on Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data and coordinate Revenue Cycle analytics, utilizing all available data.
Drives the Revenue Cycle continuous process improvement initiatives for revenue cycle that include the design, development, training & implementation, as well as, assigning accountability for transition and adoption.
Identify and execute on training needs for the revenue cycle and operations teams.
Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to find alternatives and solutions to business challenges. Seek out systems solutions that can be leveraged to meet business requirements.
Engage the RCM, operations and IT resources early and effectively building solid relationships and pushing value upstream as key business direction is being set.
Demonstrate a sound understanding of how the overall business solution is positioned, deployed and supported. Communicate business benefits to IT and influence project team priorities.
Ensure line of business priorities and IT capabilities (technology and resources) are aligned.
Identify, understand, negotiate and document business requirements with various groups.
Analyze and document requirements and use appropriate techniques to refine, decompose, review and validate requirements. Ensure requirements are traceable, well communicated and aligned to the overall business or solution vision.
Clearly understand, articulate and document existing as-is systems & business architecture and define strategy for to-be architecture.
Manage the delivery of business cases, scope and requirements documents, use-case documentation, test plans, and rollout communications.
Create and maintain a cohesive, coordinated plan to deliver solutions that meet the stakeholders priorities within budgetary and product requirements.
Drive the prioritization process by which decisions are made around project scope.
Execute on project plans and assist others in executing on project plans across the various groups.
Make scope/schedule/resources trade-off decisions with little or no guidance.
Manage and lead matrix assigned staff, develop and mentor core talent. Experienced in how to performance manage a large team.
Advise RCM, IT and business management of trends and events related to technology that have potential implications on the companys strategic directions.
Communicate complex information technology topics to RCM, operations, and IT partners effectively.
Completed any duties and special assignments as requested.

Requirements

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Business Management, or other applicable area of study.
Excellent written communication, verbal communication, interpersonal, time management, organizational and cross group collaboration skills.
Demonstrated expertise using written & verbal communication skills to distill technology projects into understandable and compelling executive level presentations.
Ability to recognize and resolve conflict.
Excellent analysis and critical thinking skills.
Extensive product and program management experience with techniques such as use case analysis, data / process flow diagramming, process mapping and requirements documentation is highly desirable.
Self-directed with the ability to work with various stakeholders and teams
Ability to make quality, independent decisions as well as the ability to collaborate effectively to make decisions with other leaders
Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines and multiple interruptions
Superior project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
A demonstrated ability to use PC based office productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio) as necessary and PC based financial tools (spreadsheets, data bases, financial planning software and graphics, Microsoft preferred) effectively for analyses and presentations
8+ years in management capacity, including experience leading employees and contractors.
Relevant experience in a RCM leadership role.
Ability to translate business vision into executable RCM Strategy.
Timely delivery of RCM process solutions.
A proficient RCM professional with experience in both business strategy development and related technology solutions.
Strong negotiation and consensus building skills when dealing with internal customers, stakeholders and team members.
Ability to understand current/changing business processes, participation in defining application and process/platform functionality.
Has built credible customer relationships both in immediate team and across multiple customer groups.
Can identify business issues and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Sound understanding of RCM & IT technology concepts. Must have a basic understanding of software architectures, MS products, development tools, etc.
A strong leader who can focus on the vision and strategies of the group while managing the tactical components of running the daily business. Can balance daily support needs with long-term strategy.
Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast paced and changing environment.
