A Senior Field Service Engineer is an experiencedexpert in the installation, maintenance and repair of rotating equipment withinthe field.
Senior Field Service Engineers hold a deeper, morecomprehensive product knowledge and a higher level of level of experience thatField Service Engineers and Lead Field Service Engineers.
To be classified as a Senior Field ServiceEngineer, a Field Service Engineer requires at least five years of fieldexperience. An advanced level ofability and knowledge must be demonstrated. Qualification to the ‘Lead' or ‘Senior' FSE Level within the BHGE FieldServices Certification System is required.
Senior Field Service Engineers are assigned tolong-term positions on specific customer sites, providing specialist equipmentsupport for GE rotating equipment installations within a customer's plant.
Senior Field Service Engineers also demonstrate alevel of supervision and management of Field Service Engineer teams. This is based on both their technicalcompetency and their leadership and management skills.
Field Service Engineers generally specialise withintwo major disciplines:
Mechanical FSEs also specialise on one of severalmechanical equipment types within the GE range of products. The range of equipment includes Heavy DutyGas Turbines, Aero-Derivative Gas Turbines, Reciprocating Compressors andCentrifugal Compressors.
- Supportcustomer operations by ensuring that operation and maintenance of GE rotatingequipment is within GE prescribed parameters.
- Conduct faultdiagnosis and performance evaluation of GE equipment in line with customerrequirements.
- Preparemaintenance plans for GE equipment.
- Train customerpersonnel in the safe and efficient operation of GE equipment.
- Maintain stocklevel holdings of GE spare parts.
- Maintainspecialist GE tooling on site.
- Liaise with GEengineering support on any technical issues that may arise during operation andmaintenance of GE equipment.
- Support outageand maintenance teams in the preparation and execution of plant outages.
Engineering Degree/High School Technical Diploma orequivalent business experience.
From 5 to 7 years of related working experience inOil & Gas industry within maintenance or installation field activities.
Superior understanding of the design and operatingphilosophy of gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressorsand/or their control and electrical systems.
Superior knowledge of GE product-specific rotatingequipment maintenance and operation.Ability to understand technical drawings.
Knowledge of GE information and management systemssuch as e-Tools and Oracle.Leadership and management skills. Sound decision-making abilities.
Strong analytic and problem solving skills togetherwith good interpersonal & organizational skills.Location:
Salary Range: AUD $ 100,000 - 140,000
