Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, has an opening for a Global Category Managerwithin the Oilfield Tools & Services (OFTS) Category. Oilfield Toolsrepresents operational spend with third parties on product, rental and serviceitems which make up portion of overall service delivery to end users.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provide category management for assigned OFTS Categories.
  • Perform core category management activities and drive value projects
  • Provide strategy, supply chain solutions and develop project management structure for cost reduction and/or performance improvement.
  • Drives Strategic Supply Agreement (SSA) and Master Supply Agreements (MSA) content and structure including, but not limited to, legal terms and conditions, transportation INCO terms, payment terms, SOX compliance, and import/export
  • Monitors BKR and supplier compliance and performance against established contracts and processes.
  • Proposes and implements improvements to sourcing policies.
  • Excellent ability to communicate with internal customers and suppliers.
  • Manage team activities with suppliers: Negotiate price, capacity, payment terms, supplier chargebacks, etc. with suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with leadership in S&OP, Operations, Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing organizations.
  • Negotiates with suppliers.
  • Monitors BKR and supplier compliance and performance against established contracts and processes.
  • Acts as the liaison between suppliers and BKR on strategic sourcing matters.
  • Maintains thorough industry and commodity knowledge.
  • Proposes and implements improvements to sourcing policies.
  • Holds financial responsibility for the Category team.
  • Handles special projects as assigned
  • Bachelor Degree in engineering or Supply Chain Management or equivalent field of study
  • 5+ years of experience in Category/sourcing/procurement for direct and indirect spend
  • Interpersonal communication
