Working as part of a relatively small, dynamic team in a high functioning and exciting part of the business. The Assembly Repair Maintenance Overhaul Specialist (ARMO) will carry out mechanical assembly; basic wiring and soldering tasks to pre-defined standards and instructions; carry out pre-defined test processes for the services team equipment according to procedure & record test data for each individual tool using the “Tool List” and online folders
This will include trouble shooting and problem-solving, carrying out remedial work in order for the tools to regain their “available” status. In this role, the ARMO Specialist will support the Services Manager and the Field Services engineers within the department. This is a base role where travel would not be expected, although supporting operations/maintenance of rental/customer equipment is possible if agreeable by the employee/employer.
- To be proactive in ensuring that health and safety is the first priority. Including both company employees and those of suppliers & customers who may visit the department.
Ensure that the quality of all tools is maintained to the highest standard by attention to detail and thorough testing.
Ensure equipment has all required maintenance and test documentation.
Ensure that the Tool List is kept updated by providing accurate information in the form of check sheets, string tests and feedback forms as required.
Perform pre-shipping tests and record using the departments quality and tracking processes.
Ensure that outgoing shipments are accurate and as required, shipping processes are followed including, labelling, transport company documentation etc.
Complete “Goods In” checks in a timely and accurate manner.
Manage bulk item stock levels so that parts are available when required.
Have a flexible approach to working hours to support equipment preparation and shipping to meet customer want dates.
Ensure workshop meets company housekeeping standards at all times.
Support the Field Engineers with Technical issues and/or support they may require while working in the field.
Mentor and support the team where necessary and provide training to the Field Engineer team on the maintenance and testing of the equipment in the rental fleet.
Maintain an accurate inventory of tooling and test equipment used within the department.
- Experience in the maintenance of Wireline Equipment or relevant industry experience in mechanical and/or electronic assembly and testing.
Reading and working to engineering drawings, assembly drawings, assembly instructions
Interpret drawings, bills of materials & follow shop documentation.
Use bench tools applicable to mechanical assembly and soldering.
Simple testing of assemblies including electrical safety checks e.g. MegOhm meter.
Operate tool room machines when necessary.
Able and willing to learn new skills
Assist in the introduction into the service department of new products
