The Athletic Trainer will provide "Athletic Training Services"* under the direction of the team physician or by written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic training practice act.
Maintain appropriate general treatment orders to be reviewed annually and approved by the team physician.
Provide athletic training services for all home athletic contests and select away contests.
Act as liaison between family physicians and specialists, the school district, athletes and their parents.
Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and referrals in the injury tracking and referral electronic health record program.
Develop and maintain a budget for the athletic training program.
Assist the athletic director as requested.
Assist in promotional events for the sports medicine program as needed
Cover outside events such as tournaments, races, etc. as needed
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
Certification to practice athletic training in the state of Kentucky.
Basic Life Support Certification required
Possess effective communication skills.
Have knowledge of disability and problems commonly encountered in the care of orthopedic and sports oriented patients.
Ability to work cooperatively with therapist. Possess good interpersonal skills
