The chosen candidate will be joining a highly talented and award winning visuals staff that is treated as a integral part of the World-Herald newsroom. Our staff has earned a wealth of national and regional awards including Emmy nominations, film festival appearances and the Great Plains Photojournalist of the Year. You will have the opportunity to cover a wide variety of stories including one of the most tradition rich major college sports atmospheres in the country.
Multi-media journalist
Photograph a variety of still photography assignments in a deadline-driven environment for OWH products.
Produce video stories for a variety of topics, including sports press conferences, breaking news, daily news and documentary long form.
Complete video assignments often at the same time as photo assignments.
Be an active and responsible participant on a variety of OWH social media channels including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
Produce online photo galleries and other online updating duties.
Produce podcasts in both a studio and field setting.
Livestream press conferences and other events as assigned.
Ability to work nights and weekends as well as travel as assigned.
Applicant must have reliable vehicle as travel is required for this position.
Bachelor's degree in journalism or closely related field preferred.
1-3 years of photojournalism experience or combined internship experience preferred.
Experience with Canon professional cameras, Mac computers, photoshop, final cut pro and garage band preferred.
