Big Data Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Design, implement, and manage databases and data delivery systems and transform it into beautiful insights, analysis, and reporting. Leverage expertise in database design and implementation tools, including entity-relationship data modelling and SQL, distributed computing architectures, operating systems, storage technologies, memory management, and networking to create structure and value out of complex and ambiguous technical challenges with little guidance. Apply expertise in structured and unstructured data, streaming and batch data processing, ETL, data wrangling, data ingest, and data access.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with developing ETL pipelines and data manipulation scripts

-Experience in using SQL and working with modern relational databases, including MySQL or PostgreSQL

-Experience with Big Data systems, including Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Impala, DataBricks, or Cloudera

-Experience with a modern programming language, including Java, Scala, Python, or Ruby

-Ability to learn technical concepts quickly and communicate with multiple functional groups

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Agile software development

-Experience with NoSQL data stores, including Accumulo, HBase, MongoDB, and Cassandra

-Experience with Big Data ETL tools, including StreamSets and NiFi

-Experience in working with enterprise and production systems

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Active Secret clearance

-BS degree in CS, Information Systems, or a related field

-Hortonworks, Cloudera, or Big Data Certification
