Communications Security Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Join a team of communications and systems engineers supporting the engineering, sustainment, and management of communication systems within the DoD. Perform ongoing system analyst activities to support DoD programs. Perform risk assessments of systems and equipment, assist engineers with identifying solutions for vulnerabilities, analyze and map DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), submit change requests for system components, analyze a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), create documentation to support risk management framework (RMF) accreditations, perform vulnerability management using automated systems, and create and submit RMF packages. Brief the technical security posture to client leadership, prepare briefing packages and summaries of vulnerabilities, and articulate how to prevent and mitigate future security threats.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with executing, analyzing, securing, and accrediting DoD communication systems

-Experience with developing and evaluating security documentation on communication systems

-Experience with security architecture evaluation, guidance development, and troubleshooting

-Experience with DIACAP or the RMF

-Knowledge of network and IT infrastructures

-Knowledge of communications technologies, Internet protocol network architecture and systems, or digital and analog electronics

-Active Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree required

-Security+ Certification

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with DoD information assurance policies, directives, and STIGs, as applicable to communication systems

-Experience with using DoD ACAS and eMASS systems

-Experience in assessing organizational risk associated with security threats and recommending mitigation strategies

-Knowledge of NIST 800 series publications, including 800-30, 800-37, 800-53, and 800-53a
-Ability to display a dynamic personality when interacting with clients to perform technical audits

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Cisco, Juniper, or Network Certification preferred

-CISSP or CISM Certification

-Completion of DoD ACAS or eMASS system training
