Cyber Package Technical Expert

Key Role:

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. Lead a small team of Cybersecurity members analyzing the development of Authority to Operate (ATO) and Authority to Connect (ATC) packages. Act as a Cybersecurity expert guiding the modification and review of existing ATO documentation and proactively provide insights into the documentation packets for ATOs and ATC for interagency, including VA-DoD systems and hardware.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a professional work environment
  • Experience with defining and creating architectural depictions and documents, ensuring logical flow and addressing all issues
  • Experience with creating and reviewing SSPs, hardware and software inventory lists, Interface Control Documents, and other components of security
  • Experience in dealing with risk management as it relates to systems with emphasis on security controls and POAMs
  • Knowledge of VA and DoD Cybersecurity policies and ATO and ATC processes
  • Ability to design and discuss system strategies for platforms, applications, and networks
  • Ability to generate security documentation to support ATO and ATC processes
  • BA or BS degree in CS, EE, or other Engineering or technical disciplines or an additional 8 years of professional work experience may be substituted for degree requirements

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with the VA
  • Experience with integrating electronic health records preferred
  • Experience with a variety of software programs and languages
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
