Integration Architect

Key Role:

Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. Serve as a senior architect in charge of a Scrum team of architects and engineers responsible for working though VA's transition to Cerner Millennium. Provide data architecture, development, and solution support. Provide support to the program based on situational need. Provide mentoring and oversight to development and PMO contracts to ensure they follow the EHRM CTO's vision.

Basic Qualifications:

-15 years of experience in a professional work environment

-Experience with introducing new hardware or software into a new or existing environment while minimizing disruption and mitigating risks

-Knowledge of DoDAF and UML

-Knowledge of high-level architecture and design support for complex system implementations

-Ability to create strategies and plans for the integration of multiple IT systems and subsystems into an operational unit, ensuring full functional and performance capabilities are retained

-Ability to coordinate with development and user teams to assess risks, goals, and needs and ensure that all are adequately addressed

-Ability to use cost efficiencies in addressing goals

-Ability to conduct modeling in Rational Software Architect and MS Visio

-Ability to function as a technical lead for a multi-disciplinary Scrum team and work with little direction to define deliverables

-BA or BS degree in CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field required or 8 years of experience in a professional work environment may be substituted for degree requirements

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in the VA

-Experience with implementing Electronic Health Records

-BA or BS degree in CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
