Software Developer

Key Role:

Provide day-to-day hands-on tactical leadership to the software development team, including overseeing the team's operations and processes, championing and modeling software quality and craftsmanship, and updating stakeholders on progress. Help the development team manage expectations, build and communicate realistic plans, and continuously improve. Support program and project managers, including providing second-level management of technical delivery staff and playing a role in hiring and training staff. Provide development engineering and programming support and design and develop applications in a modern software delivery environment. Analyze user needs, develop, create, and modify applications and software and specialized utility programs and solutions, and design software with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. Maintain awareness of technical trends and develop and maintain an awareness of ongoing IT projects and business unit requirements. Operate in an Agile development model, provide analysis, design, development, deployment, and life cycle support for innovative applications, and ensure the system being developed complies with the enterprise technical architecture.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with software engineering, rapid prototyping or software testing in an agile software development environment

-Experience with developing modern coding languages, including Java 8, Javascript, Typescript, and Angular

-Experience with Java, Perl, Python, or JavaScript

-Experience with Linux, UNIX, or BSD operating systems

-Experience with using relational database management systems and tools, including Oracle, Postgres, or MySQL

-Experience with working in a team environment and working independently, as necessary

-Experience with building applications or system administration

-Ability to obtain security clearance

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

-Active Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree preferred
