As a full time, exempt Staffing Director of Pharmacy with Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) at Clive Behavioral Health, you are the Pharmacist In Charge and Director all in one.  In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to be part of setting up a brand new pharmacy.  The role and responsibilities include licensing, regulatory accreditation, inventory, pharmacy organization  and workflow, formulary management, and operating the pharmacy according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs. In addition, you will be staffing and overseeing all pharmacy operations, including planning, organizing and controlling activities.  You will fill orders with accuracy; maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy.  In this role, you will begin as the sole employee in the pharmacy and as census gradually increases, will expand the staff to include Pharmacy Technicians and additional Pharmacists when needed.  As a CPS-employed  Staffing Director of Pharmacy, you'll have a full support team available to you including experts in operations, clinical,  and regulatory. 

Schedule:  This full time position works at least 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday day shift, with on call via telephone when the pharmacy is closed.  

About the Pharmacy:  The hours of operation are 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday and may expand with future growth.  They will utilize CPOE and Omnicell dispensing cabinets.

About the Facility: Clive Behavioral Health, will be a 100 bed, Joint Commission accredited hospital, that will provide high-quality behavioral healthcare in Central Iowa, offering a broad range of treatment for children, adolescents and adults.  The brand new facility will feature a full continuum of inpatient services including units to serve children and adolescents. Specialty programs for adults with co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues will be offered to meet the unique needs of this patient population. In addition, the facility will offer robust outpatient programs to address the most prevalent behavioral health concerns, including child, adolescent and family counseling; and treatment for depression, anxiety disorders and other common behavioral health issues.  The facility will be 83,000 square-feet, with a one-story area for clinical and support services and a three-story unit for inpatient and outpatient services.  Inpatient services will be offered to children and adolescents, ages 5 to 17, who struggle with depression, anxiety or another behavioral health issue that impacts their home and school life. We will also provide outpatient care and family counseling for young patients who do not require 2-hour care. Specialty inpatient programs will be available for adults who suffer from co-occurring behavioral health disorders and substance abuse. Adults who do not need 24-hour care may benefit from outpatient care, which will allow them to receive treatment and still maintain their home and work obligations.  Clive Behavioral Health is a partnership of MercyOne and UHS to address the growing, unmet need for accessible, high-quality and advanced behavioral health services. Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS. 

•         Pharmacy Degree - Bachelors or Pharm D from an accredited school of pharmacy
•         Iowa Pharmacist licensure that is currently active and in good standing
•         At least 1 year recent inpatient hospital pharmacy management/supervisory experience
•         At least 3 years recent inpatient Pharmacist experience   
•         Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
•         Ability to work cooperatively with other members of hospital and pharmacy staff
