Job Description
CVS Health is looking for an Application Development Advisor responsible for full life cycle code development and relational database integration. The primary focus will be to develop functionality and features in a specialty pharmacy system, with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability. The Advisor will work in a face-paced environment for a growing business and work in a team with back-end developers supporting all phases of the pharmacy, infusion, and enteral based business. A thorough understanding of all the components of application development and infrastructure is required.
Working in an application development environment, the Java developer advisor acts as technical lead for an application within the scope of the project. Oversight of technical aspects for requirements, design, coding, unit testing and system testing. Capable of decomposing technical solutions into assignments that can be executed by team members. Develops, evaluates, and proposes solutions to technical challenges. Evaluates the impact of changes on application performance and platform capacity. Communicates complex technical issues and concepts in a way that is understandable to business and leadership audiences.
Coaches and mentors' other members of the organization. Must be able to analyze, design, code, test complex programs, and perform code/design review of the work of project team. This includes verifying test results to ensure adherence to quality requirements.

Responsibilities:

The programs and technologies to be reviewed or developed are Java/ Angular JS/Angular, REST Web services, JBOSS or WebSphere process server WPS-based using various Java frameworks. (e.g. Spring hibernate) Understanding of SQL and NoSQL database technologies. Strong understanding of APIs and micro services-based architecture is a must.
Working knowledge of IT operations and strong technical skills and the following areas: application architecture, integration patterns, security, and automation. Utilize code management tools to manage source code in a multi developer environment (Serena, Jenkins/GitLab with maven). Understanding of cloud design and architecture for one or more public cloud providers, e.g.(Azure, AWS, PCF) to deliver large scale distributed solutions across the full enterprise stack. Experience in enterprise development tours and methodologies for example XP, agile, Scrum including Devsecops and see CICD pipeline. Experience with AI/ML Technologies is a plus.
• Delivering several complete applications that will be used by technicians, pharmacists and staff to process patient documents, scans, and related activities.
• Ensuring high performance on backend applications
• Design, code, test and document Java APIs.

COVID Requirements
COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Spring Boot (2+ years)
• Experience with Microservices development (2+ years)
• Experience with Maven/Gradle
• Experience in API designing, troubleshooting, and tuning for performance

• Experience in health care or pharmacy related industries is preferred.

Education
• BS degree in Computer Science or related field
