Job Description
The Operational Accounting and Banking Manager will be responsible for monitoring general accounting practices, developing internal accounting controls, and managing the daily operations of all accounting activities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Leading and mentoring a team of five across three billing sectors: direct bill, carrier payments, and employer billing
•Managing overall cash accounting; analyzing and reporting daily client cash activity and reconciling various client bank accounts to cash applications and carrier payments
•Project planning for accounting and banking initiatives, includes acquiring requirements, leading internal and external meetings, prioritizing client needs in line with organizational standards and securing relevant client sign off throughout the implementation
•Communicating and collaborating with internal and external customers as needed regarding project deliverables, including managing expectations, presenting, and interfacing with clients
•Achieving accounting operational objectives by contributing to accounting information and recommendations for strategic plans
•Acting as an internal control check point by performing routine audits and checks to confirm data credibility, analyzing data for consistency, accuracy, and reasonableness
•Managing relationships with several banking partners, payment merchants, and our internal treasury teams
•Managing control documents that are maintained by multiple parties, ensuring audits and results are posted timely
•Partnering regularly with our client and billing service teams to ensure vetting, integration and sharing of processes, and that information is shared in a timely manner and with a focus on the overall client relationship with bswift
•Developing and implementing new processes and procedures to enhance the workflow and productivity of the department
•Regulating internal controls to maintain financial security

Required Qualifications
•Five to seven years of experience in accounting specifically for accounts receivable, revenue, billing and cash position
•Three to five years of experience in a supervisor role, managing a team of direct reports
•Hands-on experience and expertise with reconciling activities – specifically for A/R and revenue accounts and reconciling\analyzing large data sets; as well as A/R journal entries
•Strong Microsoft Excel skills (V-Lookup, Pivot Tables, etc.)
•Solid understanding of accounting principles
•Strong understanding of internal controls processes, familiarity with SOX compliance concepts
•Strong communication skills, ability to be client-facing
•Must reside in Chicago or surrounding suburbs and able to commute to Downtown Chicago office

COVID Requirements
