Our GPS Advisory Financial Risk Transactions and Restructuring (FRTR) professionals help finance leaders solve complex issues impacting risk, integrity, and efficiency. Our team helps clients prepare for financial close, address compliance regulations, improve process and controls around financial reporting, and implement new accounting requirements. Our practice can provide the support organizations need with a comprehensive approach to tackle the most challenging accounting and financial issues that impact risk within an agency environment.\n\n
Work you'll do
Work with clients to identify financial\ncontrol issues and gaps
Perform audit readiness supporting remediation of client's audit material weaknesses, including performing A-123 assessment of client's business processes
Identify opportunities for efficiencies in process and innovative approaches to completing scope of work
Advise our clients on technical accounting and internal controls matters
Assist with accounting and financial reporting operations
Actively expand consulting skills and\nprofessional development through training courses, mentoring, and daily\ninteraction with clients
Assist in proposal development, as\nrequested
Maintain responsibility for completion\nand accuracy of work products
Conduct relevant research, data\nanalysis, and create reports
Participate in team problem solving\nefforts and offer ideas to solve client issues
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or other Business-related field
- Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance, or higher, is required for this role
Proven performance with financial statement audits and/or auditability assessments
- Experience improving Federal\naccounting and transaction process, internal control objectives and generally\naccepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley\nSection 404 and/or OMB Circular A-123 documentation, Financial Improvement\nAudit Readiness (FIAR), testing and reporting requirements
- Proficiency in word processing,\nspreadsheet, and presentation creation tools, as well as Internet research\ntools
- Certifications\nincluding CPA, CDFM, CGFM, CFE, CIA, CISA
- Governmental\naccounting experience in the IC
- Demonstrated\nexperience with Momentum software
