Legal Business Services – Manager – Legal Operations 

Deloitte Discovery's Legal Business Services (LBS) teams provide a comprehensive suite of legal management consulting, information governance, contract lifecycle management, and technology-enabled services to our clients. Work you'll do

As a Legal Operations Manager in Legal Business Services, you will lead a team of experienced professionals supporting Deloitte's suite of services driving transformation and modernization of corporate legal and compliance departments and/or corporate legal operations programs. You will contribute directly to delivering first class consultative services to our clients, and your support of the engagement lifecycle will include engagement leadership, sales and pursuit support, eminence, legal management consulting, legal process assessment, solution design, service delivery, and coaching and mentoring junior practitioners.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Manage delivery of large, complex or multiple smaller simultaneous client engagements
  • Manage engagement planning and budgeting, to include development of engagement objectives, scope, and project plans
  • Lead pursuit presentations and develop presentation materials
  • Drive sales revenue and manage client portfolios
  • Provide subject matter expertise on pursuits and proofs of concept
  • Lead the creation of thought leadership content
  • Lead meetings with client stakeholders
  • Identify, design, and implement creative solutions to client challenges
  • Establish engagement objectives
  • Oversee high-quality client deliverables and executive-level presentations under tight deadlines
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with client stakeholders
  • Contribute to the growth and development of junior practitioners


  • 6+ years of professional experience, including 4+ years of demonstrated experience leading and managing high performing teams and 2+ years of project management experience
  • History of successful project management including program design, identification of opportunities and developing implementation plans
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and bring new ideas and insight
  • Experience presenting to clients or other decision-makers to present and sell ideas
  • Experience leading client meetings and presentations without significant oversight
  • Strong sales focused communication skills including visual presentations
  • Hands on experience with leading technology across legal focus areas such as: Matter Management, Service Delivery, Intellectual Property, Entity Management, Compliance and Regulatory and Contract Management
  • Experience with MS Office Suite. Experience with SQL and/or Tableau is strongly preferred
  • Basic understanding of corporate business operations and functional business processes
  • Strong core consulting skills, including agility, innovation, and teaming
  • Experience leading/directing meetings and presentations with senior-level stakeholders without oversight
  • Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgement and decision-making
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and bring new ideas and insight
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment
  • Passion to learn, grow professionally, and share knowledge
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
  • Travel up to 50% (While the ability to travel up to 50% is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)
  • Bachelor's degree required


  • JD, MBA, or Master's degree in Law, Leadership, or Organizational Management
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma, or other similar certification
  • Prior consulting experience
  • Experience in legal operations, information governance, records management, contract lifecycle management, or data disposition
  • Experience with manipulating large data sets and database concepts
