POSITION SUMMARY: The Financial Business Analyst serves as an information technology subject matter expert/liaison between Revenue Cycle and Elwyn on-site Information Technology (IT) team to assist with business and operational support within our CCP/Profiler Revenue Cycle solution platform. This position helps manage troubleshooting, data needs, issue resolution, identify system design for optimization, prioritization of change control/enhancements, operational/workflow concerns, and serves as an escalation point from the business unit to IT, with an emphasis on implementing and supporting CCP/Profiler system maintenance, contract fee schedule maintenance, and other applications maintenance necessary to support business, financial, and operational needs of the Revenue Cycle. This position also supports Revenue Cycle in creating and running vital reports necessary to run an effective and efficient Revenue Cycle operation.


  • Analyze revenue cycle management workflow and software functionality and identify data integrity issues for process improvement
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate Revenue Cycle system gaps to ensure optimization of CCP/Profiler technology solutions to meet operational and financial needs. Perform same function if and when Elwyn decides to implement new platform.
  • Assist and support department stakeholders from multiple areas, including but not limited to service area, revenue cycle, finance, etc., in order to gather requirements for design decisions, develop specifications, and test enhancements and other recommended system CCP/Profiler changes
  • Participate in the Change Control process by being a subject matter expert from an information systems perspective, as needed, to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Plan and implement upgrade requirements on a timely basis dictated by IT
  • Provide hands on troubleshooting of Revenue Cycle Technology systems and work to solve technical problems in partnership with internal system team IT department and external vendors
  • Work with management team to provide strategic direction for exploring future opportunities to use new technology to improve business and processes based on industry trends and organizational needs
  • Accomplish department objectives according to allocated budget by ensuring technology systems are developed, implemented, and maintained successfully based on metrics such as reliability, financial performance, user satisfaction, flexibility and industry standards
  • Play integral role in system testing events, with tasks including but not limited to user acceptance testing, system updates/upgrades, and troubleshooting
  • Perform data analysis on reporting and data extraction in order to identify requirements, data inaccuracies, and ensure accurate processing and reporting
  • Become subject matter expert around Revenue Cycle report generation and distribution with production of reports including but not limited to, trial error reports, accounts receivable collection reports, aged accounts receivable reports, unpaid claims reports and credit reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in business, healthcare, and/or accounting preferred
  • Five (5) years of professional experience working in an analytical or business analysis role, preferably within healthcare
  • Two (2) years of experience in healthcare billing, healthcare reimbursement and healthcare revenue cycle management
  • Demonstrated competency in revenue cycle, financial, business, clinical, charge master, or other analytical skills with a focus on key performance metrics around the Revenue Cycle Process
  • Strong research, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to partner with teammates to drive results and meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyze workflow and software functionality and identify data integrity issues for process improvement
  • Highly analytical with proven ability to interpret data and apply its subsequent meaning
  • Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on new tasks and challenges
  • Must possess excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter who is an excellent team player
  • Knowledge and experience in Community-based Residential Program and Behavioral Health settings preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and judgment with specific application to medical and financial data
  • Previous experience in state and government contracts preferred
  • Non-profit human service experience highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and make recommendations for change
  • Experience using/knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred
  • Demonstrated intermediate working knowledge with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with billing applications, preferably CCP / Profiler
  • Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
