Join our team and start your journey today.If you are an Accounting professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Pittsburgh, PA location, you will review and process invoices, prepare financial activity reports and be an essential member to the Accounting and Finance team.

  • Prepare / obtain financial activity reports for monthly payables binder. Reconcile trial balance to general ledger.

  • Review and process vendor and intercompany invoices for payment including proper approval and accounting distribution. Match invoice with purchase order and items received for inventory. Investigate variances and obtain resolution prior to processing.

  • Process orders for return of rejected or defective materials and maintain documentation of status

  • Review source documents for completeness and accuracy of information.

  • Respond to vendor and employee calls requesting status of invoice payments

  • Prepare and distribute W-9 forms for new vendors in support of tax requirements

  • Develop and implement cost and process improvements designed to meet business objectives

  • Provide supporting information for processing wire transfers and ensure master list of vendors requiring wires is maintained.

  • Verify price extension, quantity, discount terms and taxability of invoices submitted for processing.

  • Initiate vendor set-up activity through Procurement.

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • At least one year business school or college including (6) six college credit hours in Accounting Principles I and Accounting Principles II or the equivalent.  
  • At least two years' experience in accounting of bookkeeping to include one year prior experience in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivables.

  • A working knowledge of financial and procurement systems, source documents, chart of accounts, organization and budget structure.
  • A working knowledge of current software programs.
