DeltaV Engineering Tools is made up of suite of easy to use and intuitive solutions that help our customers reduce engineering effort and complexity and deliver projects on time. DeltaV Mobile provides the market-leading secure mobile access that allows managers, engineers, and operators to have the plant at their fingertips whenever they need it.  DeltaV alarming provides comprehensive alarm management critical to effective plant operation.  
 
 
AS THE DELTAV PRODUCT MARKETING MANAGER - Engineering Tools, DeltaV Mobile and Alarming, YOU WILL: 

  • Work with customers, sales, and other Emerson business units to set the future direction of your products and create complementary strategies across all BU's. 
  • Have visibility with senior management as we develop new solutions to improve operations effectiveness and engineering efficiency, address relevant market trends and customer needs in the coming years.
  • Ensure that your products meet or exceed customer expectations and achieve our business goals during the various phases of the product lifecycle. This means collaborating with many other groups in the organization to ensure successful product development, launch, promotion, sales enablement, support, etc. 
  • Define the product vision and roadmap for DeltaV Engineering Tools, DeltaV Mobile and Alarming
  • Develop a holistic understanding of customer needs and trends within target markets and be a champion for those customers within Process Systems & Solutions.  Use market knowledge and insights to define the product strategy, forward direction and specific product functionality & usability requirements, and communicate those to other parts of the organization as and when needed.
  • Provide marketing leadership (i.e. guidance, direction, and oversight) to ensure that the market requirements are understood and incorporated during the new product development process.
  • Work with Marketing Communications team to develop product launch, rollout, promotional plans and other marketing collateral (e.g. product data sheets, presentations, brochures, videos) that will ensure the successful promotion of these solutions in the marketplace
  • Provide support for Emerson “internal events” (e.g., Emerson Exchange, sales training) and tradeshows.
  • Keep the management team aware of the program status, raise issues as necessary to make sure the organization meets the goals for your development programs and products.
  • Provide support for Ask PSS and customer Technical Information Exchange meetings.

 REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar technical degree
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a master's degree in Engineering (Chemical or Electrical preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with marketing, sales, project (design, implementation, commissioning, startup and maintenance), or equivalent experience in the process automation space
  • Demonstrated abilities to lead a team and influence others where there is no direct reporting relationship
  • Experience in building a strategy and persuading others to follow it
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to travel up to 20% including internationally
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
 
 
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering
  • Control System either marketing, sales, operation or project (design, implementation, commissioning, startup and maintenance) experience with process automation and control systems, especially in oil and gas, refining, chemical, life sciences, specialty chemical, hybrid and/or sustainability industries.
  • Experience with DeltaV including Engineering Tools, DeltaV Mobile or DeltaV alarming, and/or relevant experience in other process control systems
  • Experience setting product direction and working with the organization to implement the strategy.
  • MBA and/or demonstrated abilities in consultative selling, financial analysis and business justification techniques.
  • Experience or familiarity with process and/ or hybrid industries
  • Experience developing business plans to justify products or product features
  • Familiarity with the Emerson Automation Solutions and PSS / PSG organization
