Join our team and start your journey today.If you are an Intermediate General Ledger Accountant looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Calgary, Alberta location, you will be responsible for reporting financials, journal entries, validating accuracy of financial statements, reconciling accounts and loading financials to Oracle Hyperion Financial Management. The successful candidate will work closely with various group within the greater Emerson Organization.

  • Reconcile selected balance sheet accounts per reconciliation schedule.
  • Prepare selected month end journal entries and analyze accounts.
  • Use Oracle HFM and Noetix to generate reports and upload financials at month end
  • Run and distribute various month end financial reports
  • Provide analytical support to business unit as requested
  • Conduct quarterly balance sheet reviews with supported business to review account reconciliations
  • Support financial business system development and testing for Oracle Upgrades and other business systems

You establish and maintain effective customer relationships. You readily action new challenges, without unnecessary planning. You create teamwork allowing others across the organization to achieve shared objectives.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years' experience in a financial accounting role
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite Tools (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Oracle and Dynamics experience would be considered an asset
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects with conflicting deadlines
