The IT Manager for the Vendor Management Office has overall responsibility for the strategy, the day-to-day activities, the processes, and the staff for the Emerson Commercial and Residential Solutions (ComRes) IT Vendor Management organization.  This organization manages all IT and digital supply relationships worldwide and ensures optimal leverage is applied in supplier negotiations, that best-in-class contracts are executed, and that supplier relationship are in place to ensure that an exceptional level of support is delivered.

In this role, the manager works globally with ComRes Platform and Business Unit IT leadership and IT contacts, ComRes Legal Counsel, ComRes IT Cybersecurity, and the Enterprise IT VMO.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, strong relationship management, people management, contract and negotiating skills, and a proven track record of managing Enterprise-wide / Global IT or Procurement initiatives.  Candidate should have solid understanding of the following IT areas: Hardware, Software, Services, and Telecom.

As an IT Director - Vendor Management Office, you will:

  • Develop and execute the IT Vendor Management organizational strategy 
  • Provide IT Vendor Management support for ComRes Platform IT and business functions, as well as Business Units; This includes negotiating competitive terms, applying leveraged pricing models, and managing strategic vendor relationships
  • Ensure Policies and Processes are in place to ensure an efficient and effective Vendor Management Organization
  • Manage all people and administrative activities of the team
  • Develop, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements between ComRes and its IT suppliers.
  • Oversee the relationships between ComRes, its business units, and key third party suppliers to ensure that the proper support and attention are given to ComRes
  • Drive communication programs that ensure dissemination of critical information to ComRes functions and business units regarding agreements, licensing models, compliance, and other-related information
  • Manage VMO Activities in a manner that drives adoption, removes administrative roadblocks, enhances communications, and ensures that executive targets are met.
  • Liaise between ComRes functions, business units and key technology suppliers on strategic initiatives.
  • Help identify new areas of opportunity for ComRes through project work and research
  • Actively support acquisition and divestiture activities, as needed
  • Schedule and coordinate strategic briefings with top technology partners with ComRes CIO and IT Leadership

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of work experience in the Information Technology or IT Procurement field
  • Experience in contract and negotiating skills with track record of managing Enterprise-wide / Global IT Procurement initiatives
  • Solid background and understanding of Procurement and IT Hardware, Software, Services, and Telecom

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Some background in people management
