Primary Duties And Responsibilities:•Work on selected power electronics hardware design projects as a member of HVAC R&D team, with some supervision.
•Work primarily on Power Electronics & Analog designs mainly focused in VFDs, AC-DC & DC-DC switch mode power supplies for motor control applications.
•Work with cross functional team; mainly software, manufacturing & procurement teams.
•Capture / document detailed hardware requirements for the products.
•Prepare detail design documents, Schematics, Simulation, Bill Of Material, Test Plan & Test Reports.
•Interact with external Printed Circuit Board manufacturers, electronics board assembly services organizations for project work as needed.
•Build test systems for developmental and compliance related with assistance from other team members.
•Interact with Overseas team as required.
•Adherence to CMMI / ISO quality process.
Technical Competencies :
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably with power electronics hardware design experience of 5 years or more.
Hands on design experience with MOSFET & IGBT based control circuits, Working experience with Power Modules up to 50A, PWM Inverter design, SMPS design expertise in topologies like buck, boost, flyback, SEPIC etc.
8/16/32 bit microcontroller based digital design and interface design.
AC Synchronous Motor control knowledge is a plus.
Should have expert level of knowledge and hands on with Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Multi-meter, Power Analyzer, LCR Q Meter and Logic Analyzer.
Good in Hardware Designing to meet EMC compliance. Hands On of EMC Testing is preferred.
Good in drafting System Test Plan and Test Procedure for electronics and controls. Should have experience in testing and validation of designs.
Must have good Hardware Electronics design skills and should be able to use simulation, schematic and PCBA layout tools. Cadence experience is a plus. Experience of working with PCB layout personnel to ensure IPC guidelines, DFM & DFT design constraints are met.
Cross functional work experience with electronics manufacturing, assembling and testing teams is a plus. Should be willing to take additional responsibilities during the execution based on the business need.
New Product Development process knowledge is a plus.
