Role and Responsibilities

As one of the primary client-facing members of Energy Solutions International, the Senior Technical Lead is a critical member of the organization. This is a hands-on position where you will be the lead assigned to successfully implement our software solutions for our clients. You will create & enforce project specific standards, augment and enhance our solutions, design and development integrations, and benchmark individual and application performance metrics as well as estimate level of effort for initiatives. Our customers transport and store liquid hydrocarbons and chemicals in the (midstream) pipeline, terminal, and marine space. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and able to work independently and also be able to lead a team of developers both in the office and at client locations.

  • Lead the technical analysis, design, & implement technology solutions to our application suite.

  • Develop, manage, and implement the technical deliverables of our cross-functional teams that are focused on the implementing our Synthesis product for the Oil and Gas industry.

  • Managing existing implementations, and conducting internal R&D initiatives.

  • Software Resource estimation, projects & work breakdown planning, & tracking progress to milestones.

  • Create scripts to validate, transform and load data

  • Develop integration adaptors between applications

  • Ability to adapt existing experience to any new technologies and practices that may be in use at the customer location.

  • Create and install reports

  • Client training

  • Communicate with the clients and the rest of the team (oral, written and visual).

  • Understand the business needs and offer technical solutions within our platform to resolve them

  • Troubleshoot application issues and resolve with data, configuration, or code fixes.

  • Mentor other member of the team

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or technical equivalent plus 8 years of related experience

  • Or, Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or technical equivalent plus 5 years of related experience.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering.

  • 4+ years of experience as Lead on Projects Implementation.

  • 5+ years with OO (C# or Java), plus at least 1 year with C#

  • Knowledge of internet based systems including experience developing web based applications

  • Experience gathering requirements, designing and developing integrations.

  • Experience with web services and designing secure communication architecture, SSL

  • Experience with deploying web applications on Windows Server, IIS configuration

  • Experience with C#, .NET, Java/J2EE, HTML, JavaScript, XML and/or other programming languages and tools.

  • Knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle or other RDBMS development

  • Flexible & versatile technical & soft skills.

  • Comfortable adapting existing experience to new environments
