If you are an energetic Manufacturing Supervisor looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Gonzales, LA, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the Machining Operations on 2nd Shift- 3:30 PM- 12:00 AM, Monday - Friday. The ideal candidate will have some flexibility in starting on first shift and transitioning once our second shift is fully trained and staffed.
As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will:
- Responsible for supervision and leadership of hourly employees
- Establish a safe working environment and demonstrate positive safety behaviors and attitude.
- Manage day-to-day operations to maximize production while reducing costs and improving quality, on-time delivery, and safety.
- Maintain resources to attain production schedule.
- Evaluate group and individual performance through both formal and informal reviews.
- Confirm compliance and remain current with OSHA, EPA, hazardous waste handling and other regulations.
- Confirm quality of all operations through conformance to internal/external requirements.
- Maintain resources to attain set production schedule.
- Ensure that all machines are properly maintained and in good working order.
- Train new machinists and provide ongoing training and development for existing staff.
- Develop and implement new processes and procedures to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Assist Operations Manager in establishing and achieving POR Targets for the site.
Required education, experience & skills:
- 5+ years' machining experience
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience, including direct, engagement and coaching.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred education, experience & skills:
- Knowledge of and prior experience with Fisher products, manufacturing processes and organization preferred.
- Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process related problems is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn proprietary systems.
