Description

Under the direction of the Lifecycle Services Manager, the Warranty Specialist is a customer facing role requiring strong communication, mechanical and electrical problem-solving skills.  In addition to the responsibilities below, this position requires a highly motivated individual who can troubleshoot urgent, complex customer issues and drive improvement for internal processes.

AS A WARRANTY SPECIALIST, YOU WILL:

  • Deliver a consistently high level of customer service so our customer's needs are exceeded.
  • Receive incoming service calls and emails from customers and other department personnel. 
  • Perform order entry and invoicing functions related to warranty claims.
  • Prepare/authorize RMA's and purchase orders for service and warranty work.
  • Review parts and equipment returned through the RMA process to determine root cause of failure, recommend warranty disposition, and create reports.
  • Assist in formatting warranty procedures compatible with industry standards.  Coordinate with customers, distributors, end users, and Vilter sales personnel in implementing the procedures.
  • Track service and warranty data to aid in cross-functional improvement.
  • Be involved with Vilter training schools conducted for distributors and end users.
  • Utilize Vilter's business software system to determine stock status, RMA information, open and closed order information, purchasing retrieval, parts lists for department matters, etc.
  • Technical resource for customers (distributors, contractors and end users) in the smooth resolution of warranty claims, including installation, setup, operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Act as a technical resource to department personnel that are in-house and traveling Service Technicians.
  • Ensure that all government and company requirements relating to safety, health, and the environment are strictly adhered to.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
  • Associate (AA) Degree in a technical field with 1 year experience working in a technical or manufacturing discipline or 3 or more years' experience working in a technical or manufacturing discipline in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Knowledgeable of basic machine shop equipment, hand tools, and industrial repair/maintenance techniques. 
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Motivated, self-starter comfortable presenting in front of groups.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Able to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely both verbally and  in writing. 
  • Able to understand and solve a wide variety of technical concepts with little guidance.
  • Must be a team player, willing to learn from experienced staff and capable of introducing positive changes. 
  • Ability to travel 10%.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.  
  • Legal authorization to work within the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
     
 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:  
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Administration, Engineering, or a technical field.
  • Field Service or Repair Facility Experience.
  • Experience with Vibration Analysis, Industrial Refrigeration, Industrial Chillers, HVAC, or Gas Compression.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish).
     
Schedule The facility works 24 hours a day and typically 5 days a week. Our core office hours range anywhere between 7 am – 5 pm and are flexible given we work together to best support business demands as well as the needs of our customers around the world.
