Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

The Department of Communication, Languages, and Cultures is dedicated to students who are pursuing their academic and professional goals in Communication or Language Studies. We offer the Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and the Bachelor of Arts degrees in Spanish and Spanish with Teaching Licensure (K-12). The Department offers high-impact, excellent instruction, and degrees with opportunities for hands-on, practical experience, effective advising, service-learning, and internship opportunities. The Department is committed to producing graduates with practical skills and knowledge that prepare them both for successful graduate study and the work force. This position is for Fall 2020.

Description of Work Continued:

Primary Purpose of the Position:

The primary purpose of this position is to complement the current faculty and provide our students with media production expertise and instruction while making full use of existing departmental media facilities and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Principal duties include teaching core and elective courses in media theory and media production, complete peer-reviewed publications or juried exhibition work substantial enough to satisfy reappointment and tenure requirements, and provide service as Advisor to our Bronco Television student organization by working with students to maintain a robust schedule of television programming for the campus closed-circuit television system and cable television.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

An earned MFA or PhD from an accredited institution in an appropriate degree program with graduate coursework and experience in media production. Previous teaching experience as well as industry experience in videography, television, or film production are preferred.
