Responsible for ensuring that all accounting activities which relate to revenue generated by the company, are in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations of the Gaming Commission, Federal and State Tax Commissions and internal policies and controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
Develops, trains, advises, supports, and coaches the Associates of Revenue Accounting.
Directs the timely and accurate reporting of all revenue generated by the company.
Ensures the integrity of all audits performed by Associates under his/her span of control.
Responsible for following all relevant DGR's.
Ensures that expenses for the department are with the scope of the budget.
Monitors all financial activities on property, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls of the company, the Mille Lacs Band, the Federal and State Tax Commissions, and the Gaming Commission are enforced throughout the property.
Reviews Gaming and Tax reconciliations and reports, to ensure accuracy and timely transmission of information to appropriate entities.
Prepares and files tax documents with the State and Federal Government.
Evaluates performance and progress in the Revenue Accounting Department of the Finance Department, adjusting performance standards and procedures as needed.
Coordinates monthly journal entries for financial reconciliation of revenue and balance sheet accounts.
Troubleshoots in the areas of system errors and/or audit questions.
Cooperates with Internal and External Auditors, Compliance, and Investigations as necessary.
Creates financial spreadsheets on computer, programming necessary formulas into the file, and updating information on a regular basis.
Ensures a maximum level of company-wide service and satisfaction, in the financial aspect of the business, is achieved and maintained.
Facilitates the flow of information throughout the property, by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with all Associates under his/her span of control.
Understands and monitors all computerized systems utilized by revenue generating departments.
Held accountable, to a very high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
Any and all other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
Directly supervises the activities of all Associates in the Revenue Accounting Department.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and maintaining adequate staffing level to complete all work daily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
Three(3) years' experience in Accounting, preferably in the Gaming Industry, with progressive supervisory/managerial experience - required..
If required, must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.
Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority, and follow all relevant DGR's.
Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group situations, and to moderate-sized gatherings of associates, executives and/or community leaders.
Must be able to read and interpret financial reports, contracts and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies, company executives and/or the community.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference.
Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.
