*Highland Family Medicine is seeking a Full Time Family Nurse Practitioner to come join its growing team.  This newly created role will support Highland Family Medicine's expansion as construction has completed on their new addition.  Candidates for this role will work Monday - Friday, Days, with some light Saturday and Evening components from time to time.Direct patient care, coordination of clinical services and assurance of continuity of care, resident and other student education, as well as assisting the coordination of team functions.


1). Education:  Fulfills the educational requirements to be a licensed NP in NYS; specialization in Family Practice highly desirable; consideration given for nurse practitioners with other specialty training.   2). Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a registered nurse prior to completing a Master's program is desired. Minimum 1 year experience as a practicing Family Nurse Practitioner in an ambulatory primary care setting is desired.  3-5 years as an FNP in ambulatory care highly desirable.  Bilingual and teaching experience is desired. 3). License/Certification Required:  Licensure to practice as a nurse practitioner in the State of New York.  Certification by the State of New York for specialty practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner with full prescriptive privileges.  Registration by the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency to prescribe Category II through V drugs. Certification in Family Practice preferred from a national organization, such as, but not limited to, the American Nurses Credentialing Center of the American Nurses Association. This will be necessary for continued employment. 4). Skills:  Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.  Proficient, efficient, and safe independent clinical practice capability.  The Nurse Practitioner working primarily at Highland Family Planning must demonstrate competence with gynecological procedures including IUD insertions, inserting implantable contraceptive devices, administering injection contraceptives and immunizations as well as other skills necessary for the position within 1 month of hire.
