Employee will be responsible for learning multiple jobs within the department, including patient reception, patient registration (verifying demographics), appointment scheduling, mail/fax distribution, etc. Employee will deal with many customers on a daily basis which include: patients, family members, doctor's offices, hospital departments, other providers and administrative staff. Employee will utilize numerous software applications. Work as part of a dynamic and fun office team. Employee maintains confidentiality concerning all aspects of business, financial and patient records (HIPAA) and reports to Office Coordinator and/or Department Manager all significant problems, events, occurrences on a timely basis. Assists in daily operation of office, i.e. answering telephones, directing patients, and scheduling appointments as needed.
- Education: AAS or diploma or certificate in Medical Secretary Science; or equivalent experience required.
- Experience: 2-3 years in medical office setting with competency in use of computer and Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel.).
- License/Certification Required: NA
- Skills: Must be familiar with medical software systems
