*Highland Hospital is looking for a Full Time APP to join its growing Ortho team. This newly created position will join a growing group of APP's dedicated to Highland's Orthopaedic team. Candidates for this role will work a two week rotation as follows: week 1: Wed/Thurs/Fri/Sat 10 hoursweek 2: Wed/Thurs/Fri 12 hours
*Successful candidate for this role will be eligible for a $2k sign on bonus. The Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA) works in a collaborativerelationship with the Chief of Orthopedics, Orthopedic Residents and Advanced Practice providers to deliver exceptional care to patients with musculoskeletal complaints evaluated at or admitted to Highland Hospital
The NP/PA is responsible for coordination of direct patient care, documentation of care delivered, adherence to hospital and nursing policies, procedures and practice standards,education of patients and staff, creation of Orthopedic Patient Protocols and pathways, Quality Assurance tracking and monitoring , assurance of service excellence, completion of state and hospital-required reviews of practice, and participation in performance improvement and other activities as required. Works within the scope of NP or PA practices in NY State
- Education: Fulfilled the requirements to be a licensed PA or NP in NYS.
- Experience: No experience required, though preferred.
- License/Certification Required: ACLS preferred.
- Skills: Clinical Information System, Computer skills with Microsoft office. Team will educate and orient provider to be able to perform fracture reductions, hip reductions, application and removal of casts, splinting, wound debridement, and nerve blocks as appropriate.
