Per diem position for coverage on early evening shifts or day shift hours. Shifts worked could be from 3 to 8 hrs. in duration and flexible days of the week. Must hold specialty certification in wound and ostomy. Continence certification preferred but not required. The Skin Care Team Nurse promotes and contributes to the quality of nursing care provided to patients and their families / support systems throughout the hospital continuum. This nurse has a focus on skin, wound, ostomy, and continence (SWOC) patient care issues using relevant theories and scientific knowledge to provide direct patient care, patient / family education, and consultation / educational support to provider and patient care staff. In collaboration with the health care team and the Advanced Practice Nurses specializing in Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) care, the Skin Care Team Nurse monitors the clinical care of patients and provides clinical expertise to improve patient care and patient outcomes.
BS in Nursing preferred. At least five years' applicable acute care nursing experience. NYS RN license and WOCN board certification preferred (must obtain within 2 years), Health Care Provider CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
