Construction Project Manager (Lyndonville, VT)
Client in Lyndonville, VT, is in need of an -onsite Project Manager to oversee Demolition of existing facility. BIG must haves – Project Management experience in an Industrial/Construction arena—PMP huge plus.
This position is a Contract without an end date.
Project Manager will oversee all facets of the project assigned to the Primary scope—including meeting regulation requirements, overseeing underground tank removal, asbestos abatement, EHS requirements/audits, identifying potential risks, review/audit timelines/daily schedules, etc.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the Contractor demolition team, including the following responsibilities: 1) The review and approval of any subcontractors site purchasing, invoicing, and reporting, project status reports to the Client leadership team, identifying risks and in time escalation, and also delivering project per approved scope, schedule and financials.
EHS supported by Primary contractor team –but some EHS experience would be a plus.
Onsite Project Manager to provide direct oversight and management of a demolition project, which includes asbestos abatement and an under-ground storage tank removal.
Be onsite daily (M-F) and schedule and lead key meetings with stakeholders.
Attend and lead daily start-up meetings and review contractor JSA's.
Meet with construction general contractor/ Supervisor daily to determine planned tasks for the day. Specific emphasis to be given on determining critical daily tasks needed to progress the overall construction schedule forward.
Oversees critical new equipment installations with respect to safety including the creation of JSA's, Fall control, Cranes, PPE, COVID management, etc.
Ensure coordination of work between contractors is occurring and there is visibility of each day's project plan.
Complete daily EHS Observations and audits on the safety risks as well as JSA adherence.
Act as the primary contact between primary contractor and Client.
Monitor and inspect construction tasks and work to validate that documented requirements are being satisfactorily met.
Coordinate with the Client Project team when questions or concerns arise on technical aspects of work or associated requirements.
Provide weekly reports to stake holders on the general contractor's performance of planned tasks and provide look ahead to upcoming key tasks
Report directly to the Client Project team on project deliverables and take direction for mitigation or contingency actions, as well as, recommend mitigation/contingency to maintain budgetary and schedule constraints.
Utilize the Contractor Management board to review each high-risk task from the Sub contractor's dynamic JSA's. Add input to the Supervisor where there might be shortcomings on that they have identified.
Assist in Identification of potential hazards and stop criteria for the work that will be completed each day.
Evaluate general contractor's (and associated sub-contractors) performance to ensure focus on safety in all tasks, according to the project's safety requirements.
Where needed stop work so that shortcomings can be brought to the construction general contractor's attention and can be subsequently addressed.
Work with stake holders as needed to address areas where the general contractor's performance is not meeting expectations from a safety perspective.
Provide reports to stake holders on specific upcoming high-risk evolutions from a safety perspective.
Safety experience is required specifically related to construction site work and operations.
Project management expertise and experience is required specifically related to demolition/ construction site work, asbestos abatement and preferably UST removal.
BIG must haves – Project Management experience in an Industrial/Construction arena—PMP huge plus.
Demonstrated knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
Working knowledge of building products, construction details, relevant rules/regulations, and quality standards..
Competent in conflict and crisis management. Leadership and personnel/coaching management skills.
Excellent time and project management skills.
Strong Communication skills with all levels of an organization, including Supervisory experience with all levels of personnel - engineering, quality, mfg./production, and members of finance.
Project management experience that includes highly-developed, proven integration, and safety background.
Ability to problem solve and manage competing requests and deadlines in a fast-paced, high energy environment.
