Machine Operator Assistant

 

Kelly Professional & Industrial® is seeking motivated, hardworking individuals to work as a Machine Operator Assistants to operate and monitor machines used in the production of products for a premier manufacturing client in Morris Plains, NJ 07950.

Machine Operator Helper / Assistant 

Schedule: 6:00am - 6:30pm

Rotating shifts:

Team A- for the 1st week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Team A for the 2nd week- Sunday, Monday and Tuesday

Team B- For the 1st week- Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Team B for the 2nd week- Wednesday, Thursday, And Friday

Shifts: 12.5 hours (e.g. 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM) 
• Sundays will NOT be regularly scheduled work days but may be scheduled as a workday if business needs dictate.

This schedule is not intended to be permanent. The leadership team will periodically reevaluate the needs of the business and make adjustments as necessary. As long as COVID-19 restrictions are in place temporary staff should expect a non-standard shift schedule.


PAY RATE: 15.00 - 17.00 PER HOUR
Pay Rate is based on Experience
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs packing, rewinding/ assembly, or pre-press functions and operates associated machinery.
  • Follows work order instructions and performs labeling requirements.
  • Performs quality tests per ISO procedures.
  • Adheres to productivity standards
  • Complies with all required safety practices and use of PPE
  • Limited requirement for decision making in role.
  • Contributes primarily through execution of defined processes and procedures but may make suggestions for process improvement.
  • Resolves a variety of simple problems of limited complexity by following highly detailed instructions or procedures.
  • Transmits and receives basic information related to role in order to carry out duties.
  • Builds productive working relationships internally, generally within immediate department or team.
  • Learns policies and procedures and how to apply them to issues experienced in routine activities.
  • Learns and closely follows established processes and directions.
  • Receives Direct Supervision for routine work, new projects or assignments.
  • Trains other team members as directed by supervisor or lead. 


Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Able to work effectively with others.
  • Accepts direction and instruction from supervisor.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to work with light to medium machinery.


Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance work instructions, quality control grids, procedure manuals, and SDS sheets. Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form. Must have sufficient English reading, writing and speaking skills to communicate effectively throughout the organization.
 

 

Education and Experience:

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years of Production Line and GMP experience
