Responsibilities & Requirements

Position Summary:

Assist the physicians with patients

This includes preparing patients and the examination rooms; taking initial medical history for the chart; taking vital signs, making lab and x-ray appointments, and explaining the preparations to the patients

Assist physicians in all special procedures, including minor surgery, as required.

Including removal of sutures, clean wounds, and apply dressings as directed by physicians.

Other duties may consist of notifying patients of lab results, giving injections, immunizations

Can authorize and dispense medications prescribed by the doctor

 

Educational Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Pratical Nurse program with a current Ohio license
  • Preferred 1-2 years experience in an office practice
  • BLS required as well as Mandatory Education


Preferred Qualifications

 

Knowledge, Abilities and Experience:

Patient focused care including courtesy and tactful. Excellent, polite communication

Must be efficient and conscientious in delivering medical care services to patients

Must have awareness of patient confidentiality and be able to follow directions well from physician.

Ability to work under time constraints; ability to multi-task, and work autonomously and be self directed

Prefer expereice in office setting with EMR skill

 

Work Environment:

Standard medical practice office setting working with various positions

Possible exposure to chemicals

Work may be considered stressful at times due to fast pace and constant demands and decisions. Handles highely confidential patient information HIPAA. Work is subject to shart deadlines and frequent adjustment of schedule and work priorities.
