Few days M-F and every third Weekend. Hours vary within 6:00am-6:00pm Job Summary

Functions as a member of the health care team by processing medical record data. Is a major communicator and facilitator between all members of the health care team, patients and guests. Registers and may admit patients into Lakeland Regional Health System, gathering all necessary socio-economic information, required to allow LRHS to provide prompt and courteous service and to be reimbursed for providing said service.

• Accurately collect process and maintain medical record data in collaboration with the health care team, to facilitate the availability of ongoing patient information in a timely manner. • Assist in maintaining unit stock, supplies and equipment to ensure economical utilization and availability of items for patient care and staff needs. • Establish and maintain open and positive communications in all aspects of job performance, including efficient response to telephone requests. • May receive cross-training for secretarial/registration duties, e.g. patient registration, data acquisition, patient or staff scheduling process. • Maintain a commitment to career growth and development by participation in mandatory annual in-services, Lakeland Regional Health System committees and educational programs to maintain competency. • May be required to work in similar departments when needed. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience which includes patient safety, quality of care and excellent service. Basic computer, data entry, typing, filing and organization skills required.
• Abilities: Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, various locations, sometimes on short notice.
• Environmental Conditions: Potential exposure to fumes, dust, gases, and odors. Frequent changes in temperature may occur. Possibility of exposure to communicable diseases.
