Job Summary

The Predictive Maintenance Tech is responsible for applying Vibration Analysis, Infrared Analysis, and other predictive maintenance technologies (PdM) in order to detect and identify problems with equipment before they cause failure.  The main focus of this position is to increase the equipment reliability of the plant and improve the effectiveness of the maintenance group by working with a reliability mindset.  This position must be a leader of reliability in the plant and provide feedback to maintenance and production supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Individuals in this position must:

Collect and analyze vibration and infrared data on all assigned equipment on PM routes Provide feedback to production and maintenance supervision by writing work orders, and helping set priorities. Attend shutdown and daily planning meetings.  Report vibration analysis results weekly in the Planning meeting and be able to give input and help make decisions on the priority and scheduling of PdM related work orders. Provide Reliability metrics (# equipment sets in alarm, overall plant vibration levels, other) to Reliability specialist. Provide Reliability specialist with a list of equipment with chronic vibration problems for engineering review when requested. Support Precision Maintenance by assisting in the documentation of precision work by mechanics.  This will include taking before and after vibration readings. Communicate with venders, OEM, or service technicians to determine root causes of failure or alternative designs to prevent reoccurrence. Attend training to become Level II certified in vibration & infrared techniques. Troubleshoot equipment issues found on PM or basic care routes Maintain PdM mechanical PM routes in SAP by completing WO's and updating equipment as needed. Be active in Root Cause Failure analysis for all plant failures. Must have a general maintenance knowledge and ability to work in any area including helping a mechanic or performing mechanic duties if needed or assigned by supervisory personnel Must attend any related training made available Must be able to spot problems with mechanical and electrical systems and affect corrective repairs Be able to conduct occasional training in reliability practices such as laser alignment or belt tensioning, or other precision maintenance practices.

Language Skills

Education

Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in mechanical or electrical maintenance and a minimum of 5 years experience working in a maintenance department in an industrial or manufacturing plant.  In lieu of this, consideration will be given to candidates with a minimum of 10 years of mechanical or electrical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing facility.  Experience in food processing preferred.  Previous experience with Predictive Maintenance is preferred.
