
Description
Responsible for the delivery of patient care in their area of specialty through the process of assessment; evaluation; diagnosing; recognition and prevention of adverse event; planning; and implementation. Performs responsibilities in four areas of practice: clinician, teacher, leadership and professional development. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe; effective and efficient patient care delivery; and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Continuously monitors quality patient care through excellence in customer service and performance improvement that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Provides leadership in the practice location. Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA) are required to function consistent with Florida Law. The Advanced Provider III typically practice as hospital based specialists; may act as a surgical assist and perform inpatient procedures. Has night and weekend shift rotations and call coverage responsibilities. Cares for high acuity patients in a fast paced and unpredictable environment. May work without immediate physician supervision. Examples include ICU APs; ED APs; Surgical subspecialties APs, etc.
