Under the general direction of the Director or Manager, the OR Clinical Systems Analyst is responsible for assisting Perioperative staff in the optimal use of the computer systems applications.  This position is the liaison with the Division IT&S Department and ensures the coordination of the integration of O.R. systems with internal and external systems. Responsible for scheduling procedures in ORM, completing billing/charging as well as maintaining all ORM dictionaries related to OR documentation and billing.

  • Performs 10 – 15 cases per day (Avg. 250 Cases a Month): 5 ORs
  • Complex cases with variety; everything but open heart or brain
  • Biggest Volume is Robotic Surgeries (XI Robots, Hybrid OR coming 2020)
  • Team-oriented and fast-paced environment serving a diverse patient population

Responsibilities:

  • Assists IT&S with developing and maintain all ORM dictionaries, forms, queries, and responses related to OR documentation and billing. Responsible for the integrity of the OR module in both test and live for surgical or procedural documentation/scheduling.
  • Responsible for the surgical revenue cycle; completes billing/charging on a daily basis, creating supply Items, add requests and reconciling ancillary charge reports.
  • Assists IT&S with development and maintenance of standard HCA Meditech ORM CDS screens.
  • Trains new employees on the use of the OR module.  Informs all involved staff and management of changes to the system and teach as needed
  • Works with IT & S staff to coordinate the installation of the computer system for OR documentation in new or reorganized departments of surgical services.  Assists Information Services in the coordination of hardware issues and troubleshooting for Surgical Services.
  • Responsible for the daily maintenance of OR module, including but not limited to inventory dictionaries, preference cards (any other dictionaries within Meditech that requires maintenance).

Qualifications

  • BSN preferred
  • Must have a current MO RN license upon hire or a current multistate RN license.  If only a multistate RN license is provided upon hire, a MO RN license will be required within 90 days of employment.  BLS required upon hire and ACLS within 6 months of hire.
  • Two (2) years prior experience implementing or managing O.R. scheduling/documentation.
  • Five (5) years prior experience in a similar sized facility with similar responsibilities in the OR required.
