The Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business provides C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness, as well as state-of-the-art embedded diagnostics, vehicle power management and combat vehicle integration products and services.

Job Summary

In partnership with the HR Leader, responsible for a variety of HR functions which may include:, performance and compensation management, recruiting/staffing, employee relations, implementation of policies and procedures, training, benefit administration, HRIS support and employee communications.. Serves as the primary HR liaison for a client group of employees and managers.

Job Responsibilities
  • Consult with, advise, and coach managers and employees on a range of issues related to managing people and developing organizational capabilities, including performance, talent acquisition, career development, diversity, and employee relations
  • Communicate and interpret HR policies and procedures
  • May handle corrective actions and terminations
  • Perform exit interviews with terminating employees
  • Under direction, conduct investigations into allegations of harassment, EEOC violations, and similar types of claims, ensuring compliance with best legal and HR practices

 

Part II
  • Interpret and comply with all state and federal employment regulations
  • Assist in administering the compensation program including the preparation and execution of the annual performance appraisal process
  •  Communicate and interpret benefit policies and changes
  • Educate employees about their benefits and coordinate open enrollment activities which include communication and meetings with employees about options
  • Working with a third-party provider, research and resolve complex employee benefit problems and questions
  • Administer leaves of absence, FMLA, workers' compensation and STD/LTD processes
Part III
  • Assist managers in conducting needs analysis and determining compensation for open positions
  • Partner with recruiters to source candidates using a variety of methods (i.e., Internet, career fairs, colleges, etc.) from both internal and external sources
  • Plan and organize events to recognize employees' performance and enhance morale
  • Analyze training needs and then coordinate with appropriate internal or external resources to develop or present appropriate classes
  • May provide coaching for employee development
  • Ensure timely submittal and processing of employee data via HRIS systems (original new hire data and changes, as needed)
Part IV
  • Compile statistical reports for the department or regulatory agencies, i.e., DCAA, EEO, AAP, internal audit teams, etc.
  • Work closely with payroll department
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvement in efficiency of department and services performed
  • Develop presentation materials
  • Work closely with management at all levels
  • May coordinate placement of all temporary staffing by working closely with agencies and management to ensure timely, cost effective quality placements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and 5+ years' experience in human resource management
  • Background in employment law and compliance with government regulations is preferred
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues and recommend appropriate course(s) of action
  • Ability to research and analyze various different type of data
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems by using judgment which is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, and laws
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to coach and develop less experienced in HR team members
Part II
  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interface with people at all levels of a diverse organization
  • Working knowledge of various software applications (ie, Outlook, Skype, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, ADP, etc)
  • HRIS experience preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing or government contracting organization a plus
  • SPHR or PHR certification preferred
