Market Development at Mastercard
You will join as Senior Analyst in the Market Development team in the Nordic & Baltic division. The Market Development team has an integral part in the Mastercard Nordic and Baltic divisional organization by taking a holistic approach to both the external and internal perspectives impacting our business. We are responsible for closely tracking and analyzing the market development and macro dimension of our markets as well as responsible for the strategy development for the division. The team engages with all divisional functions to ensure a cross-functional approach to strategy development, project management and analysis. We are working both strategically and tactically in driving Mastercard's position in all our eight markets.
Overview of role
You will be responsible for the overall data analysis for the business, covering all Mastercard's portfolio for all eight Nordic and Baltic markets;
Have an essential role in the Market Development team's work in developing strategies for the division, building on insights from business and market data;
Drive your own work streams and projects, working closely with the whole organization in a cross-functional setup where you can assume both the role of the project lead or the source of data and market insights;
Depending on the business needs throughout the year you will with varying degree focus on:
Extracting, synthesizing, analyzing, and drawing insights from Mastercard's vast amounts of business data for the Nordic and Baltic division, including customer specific analysis, transaction type development and specific data for our services and products;
Creating and delivering presentations based on data insights, catering for business discussions, strategy development and leadership discussions;
Overseeing market data insights, including following growth development for the local payments' markets, market shares and competitor mapping;
Following and consolidating market events, stakeholder movements and regulatory development in our eight divisional markets and shaping country-specific insights, supporting sales and business development teams in the markets;
Supporting project execution across all business functions, including sales, business development, marketing, and product management;
Develops and maintains strong working relationships both internally and with external partners, acting as a spider in the web for market and business data analysis;
Can take on the role as project manager and key end-to-end resource lead on small to mid-sized projects as well as supporting roles;
Performs ad-hoc projects or targeted assignments based as part of overall Market Development team's responsibilities;
Attends meetings to gain exposure to the big picture, participates in senior level discussions to an extent;

Job specific experiences
Not all below are requirements, but we would like to see that you have one or several of the following experiences:
Work experience from a top consulting firm (e.g. within strategy development, operations and/or industries such as payments/banking/technology), strategy groups within a global corporation, banking or business controlling role in a large company or an analyst role within a fintech, digital giant, startup;
Experience conducting accurate financial or quantitative analysis and building/maintaining business case or financial models;
Experience working with large data sets, synthesizing large amounts of information, and summarizing insightful findings;
Experience creating and delivering presentations for business discussions
Experience working within or for the payments/financial industry, including but not limited to banks, schemes, technology providers, payment solution providers, fintechs;
Experience working within or for technology companies
