Overview
Looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support the Technology Governance function within our Architecture and Technology team. Technology Governance team is responsible optimizing the management of portfolio of technology products used by Mastercard to build and operate our customer facing products our internal systems and tools, and the technologies used by employees around the globe to do their work. Our team is also responsible for validating the Technologies that are in use are compliant with MasterCard Standards & Principles as well as identifying, minimizing & avoiding Technology Redundancy and sprawl.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, you would
• Manage the usage of the approved technologies which is the core of the Building Code, upon which tech stacks and patterns are defined.
• Manage logistics for policy exceptions and issues for the technology portfolio across core Mastercard.
• Help in creating technical documentation, reports, white papers, etc. for a diverse audience including peers and executive management.
• Own, enhance, and understand policy documents and standards covering Service Quality Lifecycle Standards, Software Development Lifecycle, and Engineering Principles.
• Help with identification and mitigation of key risks on various technology requests and recommend solutions that are aligned with Mastercard strategy.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders across various functions.

About you:
• Strong technical experience with exposure in architecture, infrastructure, development, testing, and operations with knowledge across multiple technology stacks.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Exposure in cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, serverless, etc.), microservice design, CI/CD, and DevOps.
• Experience with how high-performance, high-reliability, large-scale distributed systems are built and operated.
• Experience with multiple database (relational, NoSQL) and cache technologies.
• Strong collaborative and organizational skills valuing transparency over avoiding scrutiny.
• Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate with independence and autonomy.
