The RN Transition Program is a 6-8 weeks and provides education, mentoring, and clinical experiences to improve competence and professional skills to transition nurses to the Acute care setting.
The program is scheduled to begin May 11, 2020. The first two weeks will be full time, M-F 8:00am-4:30pm classroom orientation to the hospital and nursing practice. Upon completion, you will be precepted by experienced nurse preceptors full time, 7:00am-7:30pm with rotating weekends. (You will follow the preceptor schedule). Towards the end of the preceptorship you will transition to the shift you will be hired for, therefore you must be flexible to accept day or night position depending upon what is available at the end of the training. Assignments will primarily be on MedSurg.
Requirements: BSN, Current RN License and 1-3 years or more experience in Long term Care, Rehab or Nursing Care Facility. #IND123 About MedStar Health
