Perform, evaluate and coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures as defined in the Cardiopulmonary Services scope of clinical practice. Work performed in accordance with physician orders. Defined duties are performed in neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations in intermediate, intensive, and emergency care areas. Operates patient transport van in accordance to the operations policy. Therapists will work in accord to the mission, vision, and values of Mercy Hospital ministry.Qualifications:
Because you're committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That's why you'll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited CoARC respiratory therapy program, with related associated degree or better.
Licensure: Maintains a current Oklahoma State Respiratory Care Practioners License. Maintains the amount of yearly CEU's required by the state of Oklahoma.
Experience: Two years experience in clinical respiratory therapy, including one year experience in intensive care respiratory therapy. New graduates are eligible once license is obtained.
Certifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) at all times Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or Certified Respirtatory Therapist (CRT) if RRT is obtained withing six months of hire. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Other: Knowledge necessary to make appropriate clinical decisions and interaction relative to the specific age of a patient. Skills lab validation/certification of competencies for the duties and responsibilities required for a licensed respiratory therapist.
Preferred Education: Bachelors of Science degree. Other Bachelors degree acceptable. Graduate of an accredited CoARC respiratory therapy program, with related Bachelors degree.
Preferred Experience: Advanced critical care skills for emergency department and intensive care.
Preferred Certifications: Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - therapist option
Preferred Other: Advanced skills in ventilator management, brochoscopies, hemodynamic monitoring and end-tidal CO2.
