The Project Manager is the single point of responsibility and accountability for the project.  Responsibilities include pre-construction coordination, client relations, material buy outs, submittal review and approval, field measurement coordination, material inspections, weekly progress meetings, cost control, schedule control, quality control, change management, construction coordination, punch list and close out phases.  The successful Project Manager is willing to learn Milhouse procedures, able to operate with little oversight, and able to mentor Project Engineers into Project Managers.
Milhouse Construction is a subsidiary of Milhouse Engineering and Construction and a self-performing carpentry contractor that performs both rough and finish carpentry, including framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, millwork, doors, and other specialized carpentry work.  We are also an emerging General Contracting in the commercial space.
Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Read and interpret project drawing and specifications, provide material take-offs, formulate construction cost estimates and prepare proposals
    • Manage project scope, schedule and budget
    • Prepare change order documentation
    • Create project management plans
    • Create project quality control plans
    • Prepare Critical Path Method Schedules
    • Reading, understanding, and working with construction crews to follow project specific documents
    • Maintaining project files
    • Creating inspection check lists
    • Carrying out and documenting the results of construction inspections
Required Skills and Abilities:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management
    • 10 - 15 years related experience, including commercial construction management experience and experience working with public entities
    • Ability to use a computer, the Internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and email
    • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
    • Strong written and verbal communication
    • Ability to work safely in a construction environment
    • Memberships and accreditations from the following and similar societies, associations and organizations preferred but not required: American Concrete Institution, American Institution of Steel Construction, American Society of Testing Materials
    • Professional registration or PMP (or equivalent) certification preferred but not required
    • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
    • Knowledge of CPM schedule analysis
    • Bi-Lingual, Spanish Speaking preferred but not required
